Scan to BIM and as-built drawings

HearthPlans turns point clouds and phone LiDAR scans into as-built drawings and clean 3D models: walls, doors, windows and fixtures traced and squared, then exported as DWG, DXF, IFC and PDF. You can scan a space yourself with a phone and skip the site visit. Each job is a fixed quote per scan.

Scan-to-BIM and as-built drawings: common questions

How is scan-to-BIM priced?

Per scan, as a fixed quote. Send the scan or describe the space for a number.

Can I scan the space myself with my phone?

Yes. An iPhone with LiDAR and a free scanning app is enough for as-built plans of rooms and houses. It takes about ten minutes a room, and you send the file with one link.

How accurate are the drawings?

As accurate as the scan. A terrestrial scanner gives survey-grade input; a phone scan is suited to as-built plans of rooms and houses, and anything that needs a tape measure check is flagged on the drawings.

What do I get back?

As-built plans and elevations in DWG, DXF and PDF, a 3D model in IFC, and a link to view the model in a browser.
